Does it seem like life's painful or unresolved experiences have left your mind feeling tangled?
Feeling depressed, anxious, angry, or alone, as you trip over the same unhelpful patterns of coping?
Do your emotions sit like heavy knots at your core, trapping old wounds that won’t heal?
Are you a high achiever but find the activities of daily living harder than they should be?
You're not broken. You haven't failed. You don't need "fixing". You're just tangled. And you can get help to unravel yourself and feel better! Whilst our family and friends can offer advice, many people benefit from working through their problems with an objective, kind, and experienced clinical psychologist.
Dr Jacinta Thomson can help you untangle your issues using evidence-based therapies to ensure you feel safe and supported in making sense of your past, learning to be more present, and freeing yourself for a healthier and happier future.
It's important to note that it's never too early or too late to chat with a psychologist. Also, there's no such thing as a problem too small or too big to seek support for. Jacinta recognises that you are the expert on you, and your life. She will help you to understand your patterns in terms of your feelings, behaviours, and identity, and then guide you with making more adaptive choices when difficult circumstances arise.
Untangling is an investment in your mind, relationships, and quality of life.
We can offer you clinical psychology treatments for mental health conditions (e.g. depression, anxiety, PTSD) and/or for adjustment to challenging life events (e.g. divorce, bereavement, cancer).
We can help you learn more effective strategies to set and achieve your personal goals. Using a neurodiversity-affirming framework, we love to focus on building executive functioning skills too.
We can help to clarify if you might be Autistic or an ADHDer. We provide structured clinical evaluations and reports for most psychiatric diagnoses as well as more informal and fluid explorations of identity, personality, needs, wants, and values.
As an AHPRA-accredited supervisor, Dr Thomson can provide supervision for Clinical Psychology registrars, generally registered psychologists, or any other mental health professionals.
Dr Thomson is also available for professional development, speaking events, and content creation.
